Pickpockets are present in most tourist spots, so be careful with your valuables. Separate money from checks and credit cards, have two sets if you can so that you won’t be left dry if you fall victim to a pickpocket. Popular choices are conservation work with nature or animals, volunteering at orphanages, volunteer teaching or backpacking. The great thing is that Asia is a very cheap destination and these days the connections between most countries in Asia is very easy.
